Grammy's coming up this weekend!!! I'm kinda lookin forward to watching it. All of it!

Friday, February 6, 2009

I haven't filled my brain with much fashion this week, so i figured since the Grammy's are this weekend I fill post my favorite collabos of musician and sneaker company. Nice Kicks schooled me today so I can't take all the credit for this. The hard rocking Deftones won a Grammy back in 2001, and their kicks go just as hard. Their collaboration with Nike on the Dunk High is one of the most sought after for Dunk collector’s. The Deftones’ bassist Chi Cheng was in an unfortunate car accident towards the end of last year, and remains in a coma.

Questlove x Nike Air Force 1 was the winner of our Kixpy Best Air Force 1 of 2008. Questlove, as a member of The Roots, has been nominated a handful of times, and won Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “You Got Me” (featuring Erykah Badu and Eve).Jay-Z teamed up with Reebok for his own signature line of sneakers, the S. Carter. His Grammy win list is longer than the S. Carter line lasted, including collabs with a number of other artist on the list, including Bun B, Pharell, and others. Hopefully he can pull out another grammy this year. He is nominated for best rap album. He can wish right? The competition is too steep this year. He will be performing "Swagger like us" with the rest of the team on Sunday.

No doubt Kanye has to be on our list, his recent work with Louis Vuitton and his upcoming Air Yeezy with Nike are all the buzz right now in the world of sneakers. His musical abilities have garnered him 30+ Grammy nominations, but what really is impressive, is how Ye unveiled the Nike Air Yeezy to the world at last years Grammy Awards show. What can we expect from him this year? We’ll have to watch and see on Sunday February 8th at 8pm EST on CBS

Kobe Bryant again wears NBA's most popular Jersey

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Best player in the league? That's for NBA nation to argue, but there's no debate that, when it comes to NBA merchandise, Kobe Bryant has the most popular player jersey. Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers' 11-time All-Star, regained the top spot on the NBA's list, bumping 2008 No. 1 Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics to second. Bryant had the most popular jersey in 2007. The Lakers are a Western Conference-best 35-9 this season.

The league's rankings are based on sales at the NBA Store in New York City and NBAStore.com since the start of the 2008-09 season through January 2009. Two seasons ago, Bryant changed from No. 8 to No. 24. The switch probably had a lot to do with his moving up from fourth to first in jersey sales.

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers held the No. 3 spot on the list for the second consecutive season. Chris Paul of the New Orleans and Allen Iverson of the Detroit Pistons held the fourth and fifth spots. Pau Gasol, Bryant's teammate, shot up to No. 6 on the list, up from 15th a year ago.

According to a league press release Tuesday, December was the best sales month in history for both the NBA Store and NBAStore.com, with combined sales up 10 percent over the same time period last year.

In recent years it’s become a tradition for Nike to drop holiday inspired kicks, sometimes they only show up in grade school sizes, sometimes everyone gets a chance at them. The latest holiday drop is for the ladies, Nike Womens Air Force 2 Valentine’s Day edition’s have begun to hit Nike retailers.

Not sure how the skull graphics represent Cupid’s Holiday, but the red, white and gold colorway definitely does a good job at it. These high top’s should definitely sit well on the feet of the ladies, or for the fellas maybe even make a nice gift for the special girl in your life. At 12,000 Yen that’s only about $130, not a bad price, and it might even help the guys seem like the helpless romantic your girl has been wanting.

Just don’t be buying them in a bigger size than hers so you can rock them, that won’t go over well.

Here is the Womens Vandal Low and the Womens Blazer Low. The Nike Valentine Day packs just aren't the same anymore...I remember those days of copin the his and hers

Nike Air Force 1 2009 All-Star by DJ Clark Kent

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Football season isn't done just yet but I'm ready to get into a sport that is dear and near to my heart which is basketball. Besides, the MVP of the National Football League's team is already out. I still got those guys who reside in the Meadowlands though. Maybe the Cowboys will go after Vick in the off season.
Anyway, here is the Official Nike Air Force 1 for All-Star Weekend. Clark Kent helped put the finishing touches on the design. Its funny how you come from producing tracks on an up and comers album(Jay-Z) to designing sneakers. In addition, this sneaker comes with three sets of laces including the 3M Starks laces seen in the photo above. Look for the 2009 All Star Air Force Ones to jump off in mid February.
